National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), created in 1926 by the merger of the Electric Power Club and the Associated Manufacturers of Electrical Supplies, provides a forum for the standardization of electrical equipment, enabling consumers to select from a range of safe, effective, and compatible electrical products.

The organization has also made numerous contributions to the electrical industry by shaping public policy development and operating as a central confidential agency for gathering, compiling, and analyzing market statistics and economics data.

Electro-Federation Canada is a national, not-for-profit industry association representing over 225 member companies, key players in the electrical, electronics and telecommunications industries in Canada. Together, EFC member companies contribute over $50B to the Canadian economy, while employing more than 130,000 workers in more than 1400 facilities in Canada. EFC member companies manufacture and distribute a diverse array of products including household appliances, lighting, consumer electronics, communications and electronic equipment, cabling, industrial equipment and other electrical products.

Affiliated Distributors (A-D) is a 29-year-old buying and marketing group founded in the electrical industry to create a level playing field between strong local and regional wholesalers and their national chain competitors. A-D is the largest buying group for electrical distributors, general line industrial distributors, pipe, valves and fittings distributors, plumbing distributors, HVAC distributors and drywall / gypsum specialty distributors. ETIM International is a partnership of national ETIM organizations and has its official seat in Brussels. ETIM International was founded to join forces in the development, maintenance, publishing and promotion of one European Technical Information Model (ETIM) for the classification of technical products. The power of ETIM is the collective; independent and sector wide organizing is the only way to success. The focus of ETIM International for the presence lies on the classification of electro technical products, but the association is open for entry of other related industry sectors.

NEMRA, founded in 1969 by 32 independent representatives, has become a leading force in the electrical industry marketplace. It is estimated that 80% of the manufacturers that market through electrical wholesale distribution use NEMRA representative companies to market their products.
