The 2014 IDEA eBiz Forum was held September 24-26 in Long Beach, California at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel, with the theme "Full Steam Ahead: Moving Forward Together." The opening keynote, Greg Verdino, Business Futurist and Digital Transformation Expert, presented "The HyperNetworked Now: Collaborate, Innovate & Create New Opportunities for Growth." New to this year's Forum were three educational session tracks: How to Build, Promote, and Maintain a Web Store; How Your Product Data is Used: B2B, B2C and Internationally; and Product Lifecycle eBusiness Planning. Other highlights included an Industry Advisory Council Data Quality Panel and a second keynote, "How Ecosystems Win," given by Bruno Bowden, entrepreneur and previous Google Earth engineer. The 2013 IDEA eBiz Forum was held September 25-27 in Orlando, Florida at the Hilton Bonnet Creek with the theme "Dream it. Do it. Let the Innovation Begin." The opening keynote, Josh Linkner, presented “Executive Imagination: Turning Raw Ideas into Powerful Results." Examples of other sessions include, "Dream it - Do it. Better Data - Better Business," given by Bob Gaylord, former President & CEO, IDEA; "Innovation to Thrive Workshop," given by Robert Brands, Innovation Coach; and "People Follow You: The Real Secret to What Matters Most in Leadership," given by Jeb Blount, author of People Follow You. This was the first time that I attended an IDEA E-Biz meeting. I have been in the industry a long time and I now realize what I had been missing by not attending this meeting sooner. I will definitely be back next year.
