IDEA Tip of the Week: Exemptions

When the Data Certification Program was created, IDEA realized that not all of its 43 critical data fields were relevant, and that there may be external factors that inhibit a manufacturer from being able to provide accurate product information. Some of the 43 critical fields may be exempt from the compliance and excellence requirements, and the “exemption” status allows the manufacturer to leave those fields blank.
