Job Summary

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will work in an enthusiastic and progressive team setting for IDEA, an industry leader in the Electrical Wholesale channel supporting a large and dedicated customer base.  IDEA’s mission is to maintain a leadership position in facilitating the exchange of complete, high-quality, commercial grade transactional and eCommerce content.

The BSA will support internal/external for updates to IDEA’s MDM system.  Additionally, the BSA will assist in the crucial support process by gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements to repair or further enhance our MDM system.  Working alongside other IDEA staff, the BSA will determine and document key functions into well-organized specifications and test cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define test cases, develop & execute test plans for planned changes to IDEA’s MDM system
  • Ownership of system regression testing, including maintaining test scripts and coordinating execution with multiple internal business groups
  • Participate in discovery meetings to gather detailed business and technical requirements
  • Identify, research, and track system issues identified internally and by customers
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for data attributes, taxonomy, hierarchy, and workflows
  • Translate business requirements into functional tasks or user stories with acceptance criteria

Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 3 plus years of Business Analysis, Process Improvement, and Data Management experience
  • Extensive experience in creating and executing test plans
  • Experience with Agile development and SCRUM methodologies
  • Familiarity with PIM/MDM data concepts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in SQL query writing
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or an engineering field
