IDEA’s mission is to assume a leadership position in facilitating the exchange of complete, high-quality, commercial grade transactional and eCommerce content, which includes serving as the electrical industry’s standards body by setting, facilitating, and monitoring data standards

IDEA is comprised of two for-profit businesses and is jointly owned by two non-profit Associations, NAED and NEMA:

  • IDEA Connector – an industry product information platform which receives, validates, stores, secures and syndicates both transactional and eCommerce enhanced data/product content
  • IDEA Exchange – a Value-Added Network (VAN) which enables electronic data to be passed between companies in a competitive, cost-efficient manner

Key Accountabilities:

The Digital Marketing & Analytics Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of digital marketing, analytics, and additional key marketing & operation activities at IDEA. They will also provide strategies for marketing activities and collaborate with the team to execute internal and external tactics. The Digital Marketing & Analytics Manager will manage the marketing calendar and communicate changes to the marketing team by providing guidance on prioritization and approvals on all related activities. This full-time position will report to the Director of Digital Operations & Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute marketing plans for long and short-term goals
  • Train and communicate with marketing team members as needed
  • Collaboratively participate in developing and maintaining marketing plan and calendar
  • Collaborate on the creative direction of IDEA’s brand and position in the industry
  • Manage third-party creative and technical vendors to execute marketing plan and special projects
  • Execute internal and external campaigns
  • Act as Editor-in-Chief of IDEA’s customer electronic publications
  • Develop and maintain product marketing materials including, but not limited to, web and brochure copy, email creative, webinars, demo videos, articles and presentations
  • Lead IDEA’s email marketing automation strategy including the execution of various email campaigns and integration with IDEA’s CRM platform (Netsuite)
  • Manage the development and maintenance of IDEA’s corporate web properties
  • Manage IDEA’s social media strategy and engagement efforts
  • Lead generation – learn how leads are currently developed, how we can develop more and more qualified leads, follow-up to ensure leads are being marketed and sold to
  • Analytics – Website, marketing activities, IDEA Connector – Identify relevant KPIs, develop benchmarks, set goals, learn milestones to achieve goals
  • Reporting – Develop a report card on a weekly/monthly cadence that can be communicated internally and to the board to show company progress
  • Lead IDEA’s co-marketing efforts and develop/nurture relationships with key partners and customers
  • User Group – Identify personas, manage filtration of the group, utilize for customer studies, and communicate to as needed.
  • Manage IDEA’s annual marketing budget
  • Communicate ROI from marketing efforts
  • Manage marketing for industry events (approximately 25 events per year) including IDEA’s annual customer event, the IDEA E-Biz Forum
  • Work closely with the account management team to develop targeted campaigns based on revenue goals
  • Provide event marketing consultation and support
  • Develop executive briefings upon request
  • Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions
  • Monitor press coverage in trade publications and assist with projects to increase media coverage
  • Purchase media space and provide creative direction for advertisements
  • Manage the meeting logistics, sponsorship, and marketing for annual user conference eBiz Forum.
  • Ensure that eBiz meets its sponsorship and registration revenue goals.
  • Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as they arise

Education and Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in marketing, merchandising, analytics or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Management or a related discipline
  • Expertise in bridging the gap between marketing and IT
  • Experience communicating complex topics in layman’s terms
  • Passionate about quality and devoted to detail
  • An eye for creative design
  • Strong writing, communication, and proofreading skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and social personality, comfortable in a corporate environment
  • Fundamental knowledge of content management systems, email marketing and customer relationship management software
  • (Preferred, not required) 5-8 years of experience in the electrical or industrial industries
