The Industry Data Warehouse (IDW) now supports native Excel file formats for any data that was previously only able to be loaded via EZView/PIPE, making it even easier to load data into the IDW.
Previously, manufacturers needed to know how to use a text editor to create a pipe-delimited text file from an Excel file prior to loading their data into the IDW. With this recent update, manufacturers can skip that step and instead load the Excel file directly into the IDW. Both old and new Excel file formats (.xls and .xlsx) may be used.
In addition to the newly-supported EZView/PIPE files, users may also submit TX (enriched B3/B7/partial-B2) and AD-FF file formats as Excel files. At this point, nearly all Flat File formats available for loading data into the IDW can be substituted with Excel files. IDEA will continue to develop new B-view specific formats and, moving forward, all Flat File formats will support Excel file loads.
