Arlington, VA – July 22, 2009 – IDEA, an electrical industry owned eCommerce service provider, today announced open nominations for the third annual Richard Buzun Award for Leadership and Innovation in eCommerce. The award is named after the late Richard Buzun, former IDEA Chairman, and CEO of Siemens Energy & Automation. One manufacturer and one distributor company will be recognized for innovatively using trading partner interactions to increase the speed and accuracy of communication and improve supply chain efficiencies.
The winners will be announced at the close of the IDEA E-Biz Forum 2009 (www.idea-ebizforum.com) in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, September 24. Past winners are OSRAM SYLVANIA, Viking Electric Supply, Leviton Manufacturing and Van Meter Industrial. Representatives from the 2008 winning companies will share eCommerce best practices during the break-out sessions of the 2009 Forum.

The award nomination form is based on criteria that measures company involvement in eBusiness activities and programs that help the electrical industry reduce costs and boost sales. Richard Buzun served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Energy & Automation from October 2000 to June 2002. He joined the company in 1994 as Vice President of the Residential business. In December of 1999, he was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for all operating divisions of Siemens Energy & Automation. In addition to serving as a member on the IDEA Board of Directors, Buzun was the Chairman of the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) Board of Directors, a member of the Board of Directors for Workbrain, the Georgia Tech President’s Advisory Board, and served on the Board of Directors of the Carter Center.
