IDEA’s Classification Attribute Standard (CAS, formerly known as Classification and Marketing Descriptor Model) defines the attributes available for specific product categories. The latest version of the CAS, v06.01, includes updated critical attributes. Critical attributes are the minimum set of attributes (product characteristics) that should be populated to ensure that manufacturers are providing key pieces of information to distributors to help them make proper buying and selling decisions.
