FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
IDEA, the electrical industry’s data and technology provider, has recognized Legrand, North and Central America with the IDEA Data Quality Award for excellence in product data quality.
Mike Wentz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at IDEA, presented the award on September 30 during the opening general session of eBiz 2026, IDEA’s annual conference on digital business in the electrical industry.
Jaclyn Aulich, Senior Director, Product Data Program at Legrand, led the work with the support of Karmen Muller, Senior Program Manager, Product Data, and the Legrand Product Data Quality Team. Their ongoing improvements raised customer satisfaction scoring for product information on legrand.us by 35%. The team also cut product data enrichment time by 50%, which speeds time to market and supports stronger sales.
Brian DiBella, President and CEO of Legrand, North and Central America, championed the initiative. DiBella is a longtime member of the IDEA board.
“Data quality is a journey for most manufacturers, and success can be measured in many ways,” said Wentz. “At IDEA, we believe constant improvement is the best strategy, whether it comes in big steps or through a series of smaller improvements.”
Legrand’s results build on a Product Data Quality program the company launched three years ago. Working with IDEA Pro Data Services, the team cleared legacy fields, inconsistent labels, and outdated products from the data it syndicates, and focused its attributes on what distributors need. Legrand now sends 118 data fields to IDEA Connector, up from 20, and ranks in the top 5% of IDEA manufacturers, a climb of 51 places in three years. Severe errors, which keep distributors from accessing SKUs, fell by up to 80% across product lines.
“Partnering with IDEA’s Pro Data Services has been a game-changer for our business,” said Muller. “By streamlining how we deliver clean, standardized product data to our distributors, we’ve dramatically improved visibility and trust across our network.”
