Industry Collaboration Delivers Growing Repository of Reliable Cubic Dimensions Data to Optimize Supply Chain Operations
IDEA, in collaboration with Avalon CSC, announced that its Volumetrics initiative has measured and cataloged weight and dimensions data for more than 50,000 high-velocity SKUs across 500+ manufacturers, marking a significant milestone in the electrical industry’s efforts to build the most comprehensive repository of reliable cubic dimensions data.

What’s New in the IDEA Connector?
Harmonized Data Model
We’ve expanded the Harmonized Data Model (HDM) by adding 50 additional UNSPSC product categories to better support products flowing through the IDEA Connector. These categories do not have corresponding ETIM equivalent class codes, but have active SKUs within the IDEA Connector. By data typing these UNSPSC codes, they will now pass through our preprocessor for normalization – enabling standardization, helping ensure we continue to deliver high-quality, attributed data to the distributor partners.

ETIM 10
ETIM Version 10 is now available in IDEA Connector. This release adds ETIM v10 support alongside our existing ETIM v7–v9 versions, so manufacturers have the flexibility to provide the versions their distributors support and need. Login to the IDEA Learning Portal to access updated documentation including XML Guidelines and ETIM v10 flat file template which is included in the B-View Flat File Guidelines zip file.
